With performances designed to celebrate some of the most popular pieces in a diverse vocal repertoire, OPERATIF! concerts have always been appealing both for confirmed lovers of opera and song and for newcomers. OPERATIF!’s commitment to presenting talented performers and to ensuring our rich vocal heritage lives on for today’s audiences is well known. As well as countless concert and special event performances, three fully-staged opera productions were received with enthusiasm and critical acclaim. Their 20 plus years of presenting concert series, operas and mini Festivals remains a source of great pride for Stewart and Jennifer. Their next project is producing a wonderful musical week on Norfolk Island in December 2021, where music lovers from Australia and New Zealand will converge on this unique Pacific destination.
In recent years, OPERATIF! has increasingly entered the travel arena, developing and now expanding tours for music lovers. This new venture quickly took off and has yielded client testimonials that are equally glowing. Jennifer and Stewart liken creating a tour to creating a good performance…with the need to excite, entice and entertain throughout, a common thread.
In addition to performances, each of the tours features a sparkling itinerary taking in various attractions and tours relating both to music and to broader fascinations in the cities, towns and regions visited. Destinations in Europe and Asia are offered, with Italy a much-loved speciality. A ‘jewel in the crown’ annual tour is ‘Viva Verdi & La Scala.’ It takes in the main performances in the world-acclaimed Festival Verdi in Parma, explores the life of Verdi, Pavarotti and other greats and also includes opera at La Scala, Milan and La Fenice, Venice.
